Special attention when deploying an ONVIF Profile Q Device

When a Profile Q conformant device is connected to an IP network for the first time, it is in the Factory Default State, intended for initial set-up / configuration. In this state, the device will accept any supported ONVIF commands without requiring authentication. For cybersecurity and data protection/privacy reasons, implementing protective measures is recommended while in Factory Default State. The device remains in this state until an administrator password is set. Only then, the device changes to the Profile Q Operational State requiring authentication for all ONVIF commands. Profile Q devices should be deployed in Operational State only.
