ONVIF is a leading and well-recognized industry forum whose mission is to provide and promote standardized interfaces for effective interoperability of IP-based physical security products.

The work in ONVIF is driven and carried out by its members in various committees and working groups (WG). Find out how to participate in ONVIF committees and working groups by reviewing the ONVIF Member Participation FAQ. The organization structure is as follows:

Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is responsible for strategy and budgeting for ONVIF. Current members of the Steering Committee are Axis, Bosch, Sony, Honeywell and Pelco by Schneider Electric.

Technical Committee
The Technical Committee drives the development of ONVIF core specifications as well as the technical direction and roadmap. Current members are Axis, Bosch,  Hanwha Techwin (formerly Samsung Techwin), Honeywell, Panasonic, and Pelco by Schneider Electric. Working Groups under the TC include Core WG, Security WG, Physical Access WG and Video Enhancement WG.

Technical Services Committee
The Technical Services Committee is responsible for the development of profiles, test specification, test tool and conformance process. Current members are Anixter, Axis, Bosch, Hikvision, Pelco by Schneider Electric and Sony. Working Groups under the TSC include: Device Testing WG, Client Testing WG, DT Evolution WG, Profile T WG and Developers’ Plugfest Task Force.

Communication Committee
The Communication Committee is responsible for the organization’s external and internal communication. Current members are Axis, Bosch, Dahua Technology, Honeywell, Pelco by Schneider Electric and Sony. Working Groups under the CC include the Use Case WG.
