ONVIF holds 5th Interoperability Demonstration at ISC West

LAS VEGAS – March 20, 2012. ONVIF, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, today announced that it will host its 5th public demonstration of interoperable products at the ISC West conference and trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 29, 2012.

The event, which is ONVIF’s 3rd such event held at ISC West, offers the opportunity for members of the security industry to interact with companies actively involved in the development and implementation of the ONVIF specification. Companies taking part in the demonstration include network video firms Arecont Vision, Axis, Bosch, CNB Technology, DRS RSTA, FLIR Systems, March Networks, Schneider Electric and Siemens.

These interoperability events help raise the profile of ONVIF and the importance of standards in the security industry, said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer for March Networks. Inviting decision-makers to see how easily products from different manufacturers can speak to each other reinforces the commitment we and all ONVIF members have made to interoperability in the market.

ONVIF continues to release enhancements and additions to the specification, which currently encompasses video storage, display devices, video analytics and other areas, bringing it closer to its goal of providing a global open network interface standard for physical security equipment. Released earlier this year, Profile S describes common functionalities shared by conformant video management systems and devices, such as IP cameras or encoders, that send, configure, request or control the streaming of media data over an IP network. Profile S is the first in a series of profiles designed to help end users and systems designers more easily select interoperable devices.

The interoperability demonstration will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., March 29 at the Venetian / Palazzo Congress Center, Level 2 Bellini Rooms 2002 amp; 2003. To register, please visit www.regonline.com/onviflasvegas.
