  • ONVIF rsquo;s global member base has grown to exceed 200 companies
  • 195 ONVIF conformant products available, released by 27 companies.
  • Recent scope extension to include physical access control systems will enable more users to benefit from the common ONVIF interface.

San Ramon, CA. ndash; July 7, 2010. ONVIF, the leading global standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products, announces today that its member base has grown to 201 companies. The organization now boasts 14 full members, 18 contributing members and 169 user member companies.

With ONVIF rsquo;s growing member base, it becomes easier for end users, integrators and consultants to find interoperable ONVIF conformant products for their security solutions. 27 companies have already launched a total of 195 ONVIF conformant products, including network cameras and video management systems. The number of conformant products is growing rapidly as more and more companies implement the ONVIF specification into their products.

ldquo;Reaching 200 members and 195 conformant products is another milestone for ONVIF and clearly shows that the industry has chosen ONVIF to be the interface to select, rdquo; says Jonas Andersson, Axis Communications, Chairman of ONVIF rsquo;s Steering Committee. ldquo;And with the recently announced scope extension to include physical access control systems, there will be even more companies joining ONVIF and a wider range of ONVIF conformant products available. ONVIF is now taking another step forward to facilitate the integration of IP-based security and safety devices using a global open network interface. ldquo;
