With Logan Ricketts, Product Manager and Integrations Specialist, Alibi Security

What brought you into the physical security market, and how has your role in the industry evolved?
Alibi Security entered the physical security market to deliver professional-grade, reliable video surveillance solutions to security dealers and integrators who need simplicity, consistency, and long-term performance. Over the years, our role has evolved from being a hardware provider to becoming a full-solution partner – offering cloud and on-premises video platforms, advanced analytics, mobile applications, and lifecycle support that help our partners deploy smarter, more secure systems.

What motivated you to join ONVIF, and how long have you been a member?
We joined ONVIF to strengthen interoperability across our product ecosystem and to ensure seamless integrations with the VMS, access control, and analytics platforms our dealers rely on. As the industry moves toward open standards, ONVIF gives us a framework to guarantee compatibility and deliver predictable performance. Alibi Security has been an ONVIF member for several years, and it continues to be a core part of our product strategy.

Which ONVIF profiles do your products support, and why do these matter for your customers?
Alibi Vigilant products support ONVIF Profiles S, G, T, and M, enabling streaming, recording control, metadata, events, and analytics integration across a wide range of third-party systems. These profiles matter because they give customers flexibility – allowing them to mix and match best-fit technologies, preserve existing investments, and expand their systems without being locked into a single vendor.

How has ONVIF membership impacted your business – whether through expanded market access, stronger partnerships, or product innovation?
ONVIF membership has expanded our market reach by allowing our products to be integrated into national platforms, cloud VMS solutions, and enterprise security ecosystems. It has opened doors for new partnerships and deeper collaboration with technology companies, and it has accelerated product innovation inside our Vigilant line – particularly in metadata handling and analytics where standardized interfaces allow us to build faster and more efficiently.

What’s the most valuable advantage of ONVIF membership you’d share with companies that may be considering joining ONVIF?
The single biggest advantage is predictable interoperability. ONVIF gives us a shared language, so our products work reliably across the industry. This reduces integration friction, improves customer confidence, and shortens development cycles – ultimately making our solutions more competitive and easier to deploy.

Can you share a real-world example of how customers are using ONVIF interfaces in their security systems?
Many Alibi customers use ONVIF to integrate our Vigilant cameras with third-party VMS systems such as Eagle Eye Networks, Milestone, ExacqVision and other ONVIF-conformant software. In mixed-vendor environments – like retail chains, schools, and multi-site commercial deployments – ONVIF enables unified live view, playback, motion events, and analytics metadata to flow seamlessly across platforms, even when hardware comes from multiple manufacturers

Tell us one unique fact about your company:
Alibi Security is a dealer-exclusive brand—meaning we focus exclusively on supporting professional security integrators with nationwide distribution, technical training, and lifetime U.S.-based support. Our success is tied directly to our partners’ success, and that drives every product and service we deliver. This helps us deliver on our missions to make communities across the country safer, smarter and more secure.
