What does Aiphone Corporation do?
Aiphone offers a wide array of high-quality, reliable products offering solutions for security points in almost any application.  Known for design simplicity, technical excellence, and backed by award-winning customer support, our highly configurable systems range from DIY audio intercoms, through sophisticated video entry systems, all the way to enterprise-level, IP-based and SIP-capable communication networks with emergency call stations.

How long has Aiphone been in the physical security market?
Aiphone entered the North American intercom market in 1970. The first U.S. office was located in Seattle. We are now located in Redmond Wash.

Why did you join ONVIF and how long has your company been a member of ONVIF?
Aiphone has been on ONVIF member since 2013. We joined for the standards ensuring interoperability with products from other industry manufacturers.

To which specific profiles does your company’s products conform and why is that beneficial to your business?
Aiphone products use Profile S. This standard from ONVIF provides a common integration path for Aiphone and third-party video product manufacturers. That saves Aiphone from having to create multiple integration protocols for products such as video management systems.

What does it mean to you to be a member of ONVIF and what kinds of business impacts have you seen as a result?
ONVIF membership has been very positive for Aiphone. Within the security industry, it’s almost expected your products will be ONVIF-compliant if you are going to be streaming video.

Are there any specific benefits it brings to your business?
It allows for us to have simple conversations with other manufacturers when discussing streaming video. We do not have to go into details on how it will be done. That reliable integration ability is also very reassuring to our end users. They want to future proof their security investments. ONVIF standards ensure interoperability even as devices and software change.
