ONVIF Newsletter December 2025
Greetings from Leo Levit,
As 2025 draws to a close, I’m reflecting on how trust serves as the foundation for progress in our industry. This year brought significant innovation in AI-driven analytics and other technologies, and reinforces the critical role that standardization plays in maintaining confidence across the security ecosystem.
Trust is essential on several levels. Our ongoing work on video integrity focuses on ensuring that security video remains a dependable source of truth as AI evolves. Just as important is the trust in the interoperability of ONVIF conformant products. Our Conformant Products database and testing resources enable integrators and end users to confirm that products meet our profile specifications before deployment.
In 2026, we are looking forward to finalizing our standards in the realms of cloud connectivity and audio standardization, supporting the infrastructure that will define tomorrow’s security systems. I want to thank every member company and individual who contributed their expertise this year to these efforts and all of our work. Your collaboration across continents embodies the spirit of openness that makes our mission possible.
To those who celebrate during this season, I wish you a joyful and peaceful holiday season. To all, I extend my hope for a prosperous 2026.
Kind regards,
Leo Levit
Chair, ONVIF Steering Committee
