ONVIF Chairman, Organization Named to Top 40 Industry Influencers List by IFSECGlobal.com

San Ramon, CA. – February 7, 2013. ONVIF, the leading global standardization initiative for IPbased physical security products, has announced that Steering Committee Chairman Per Björkdahl and the ONVIF organization was cited as No. 3 among the Top 40 Most Influential People in Security & Fire by IFSECGlobal.com, the newly launched global online community for security and fire professionals.

In recognizing ONVIF, IFSECGlobal.com said the organization has “done some extremely interesting work to unify the surveillance community” and “has simplified security technology interoperability.”  Additionally, IFSECGlobal.com’s Content and Community Manager Rob Ratcliff said ONVIF, now under Björkdahl‘s leadership, “will be at the forefront of continued physical security development.”  In response to this citation, Björkdahl said, “ONVIF is honored that its ongoing efforts to create standards for the security industry is recognized.
