How long has Salient Systems been in the physical security market?<\/strong>
Founded in 1995, Salient has delivered best-in-class video surveillance solutions for critical infrastructure, transportation, logistics, retail, education, and more for over 25 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did you join ONVIF and how long has Salient Systems been a member?<\/strong>
Salient was pleased to become a member of ONVIF in Q3 of 2020. Our goal was to provide assurance to our clients of our continuing efforts to maximize compatibility with their existing infrastructure and to further our philosophy of embracing open architectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To which specific profiles does your company\u2019s products conform, and why is that beneficial to your business?<\/strong>
Salient\u2019s CompleteView VMS conforms to the ONVIF Profile S standard, including configuration of video and audio streaming, PTZ, event handling, and device discovery. As a global organization, our clients utilize a wide variety of network cameras and other devices, many of which also employ the ONVIF Profile S standard. Our conformance ensures our clients’ security infrastructure will work seamlessly with CompleteView with minimal configuration time required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does it mean to you to be a member of ONVIF and what kinds of business impacts have you seen as a result?<\/strong>
Salient values collaboration and cooperation to provide ever evolving, improving security solutions to our clients. Stemming from that philosophy, CompleteView, our flagship VMS, employs a fully open architecture to foster interoperability between our software and our clients’ access control, alarm systems, etc. Conformance with ONVIF Profile S<\/a> is a natural extension of that philosophy and has garnered opportunities in new markets, international and domestic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are there any specific benefits membership brings to your business?<\/strong>
Our membership in ONVIF has opened up opportunities in both international and domestic markets where conformance was a requirement. CompleteView\u2019s conformance with ONVIF Profile S has provided peace of mind to potential clients concerned about the compatibility of their existing camera infrastructure. In addition, membership allows Salient access to tools that help us continue to validate and ensure that our products are ONVIF conformant, especially as we seek to re-certify each quarterly release of CompleteView.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
