The ONVIF conformance process is a self-declaration scheme under which an ONVIF member company may state for its network video product interoperability according to the ONVIF specifications and may then use the ONVIF logo with this product. To claim conformance with the ONVIF specifications the member company must ensure that the stated product meets the requirements of the ONVIF Core Specification, positively responds to the test routines of the ONVIF Test Specification and passes the ONVIF Test Tool procedures, if available for this type of device. He has to submit the completed Declaration of Conformance together with the related positive test tool report to the ONVIF office. The responsibility for the product conformance is solely the Member’s.

Restricted Liability of ONVIF

Each member compiles and maintains documentation on procedures and test results for each of the products he has declared conformance with the ONVIF specifications. The Member provides this documentation to ONVIF or its assigned representative for proof. The ONVIF Forum has no liability for its members claiming products are ONVIF conforming.

• The ONVIF Forum has no liability for manufacturers’ self-declaration.
• The ONVIF Forum has no liability for performance and/or quality of products stating ONVIF conformance.
• The ONVIF Forum has no liability for the actual implementation of the ONVIF specifications.
• The ONVIF Forum does not provide any conformance testing services.
